A rustic house used as an accommodation facility and a farm cultivated with olive groves and vineyards in one of the most typical and evocative areas of Tuscany
The Farm
Used as an accommodation facility following a radical and recent renovation, it is located on the top of the hill, at an altitude of approximately 300 m.
The upper part of the slope is cultivated with olive groves and vineyards, crops favored by a microclimate characterized by constant ventilation and a marked temperature range: the olive grove is located in the highest part of the property, with a system of over 5000 plants in production. The vineyard occupies the part suited to high quality production.
The part sloping down towards the Ente river is cultivated with cereals, such as wheat, spelt, barley and fodder, with a rotation of production types respecting the natural balance of the soil.
The forest is mainly made up of oaks, holm oaks and turkey oaks while the undergrowth is rich in broom, pittosporum, viburnum and various examples of spontaneous tree species; furthermore it is a natural habitat for wild boars, foxes, roe deer, squirrels, wild rabbits, pheasants and hares.
The care of the wooded area is the subject of a careful maintenance and cutting plan. The agronomic management by the property punctually adheres to the criteria of organic cultivation, guaranteed and certified by BioAgriCert, thus ensuring an environment that respects nature for operators and guests on the farm.
The farm declines towards a wooded area lapped by the waters of the Ente stream which bathes a small plot of property called Podere Molino, where an old farmhouse is surrounded by woodland and centuries-old olive trees.
The farm
Podere del Vescovo, a sharecropping house restored respecting its rural origins, is surrounded by a vast garden.
The independent and social spaces alternate around the loggia, the belvedere, the old stable now a play space, the swimming pool, the restaurant.
The 9 rooms with bathroom, furnished in the typical Tuscan Arte Povera style, have an independent entrance.
The tidy and clean rooms are equipped with modern comforts.
The kitchen uses organic products from the company and the vegetable garden and high quality local products. The hospitality is affable, welcoming, animated by sincere conviviality.
